Hello Krrish

MBA degree is always helpful for any professional. It is good that you're a CA but an MBA degree will help you learn business insights. The two universities you mentioned above i'll recommened you Madras University as i've read many good reviews about the university online. Bharathair University is also good and one of the preffered university in India for distance learning courses.

I would suggest you to opt for Bharthiar University for distance MBA. and YES. distance education definitely have high value if done from reputed and accredited universities and institutes. Jaro education provides distance MBA in collaboration with Bharathiar University. For more details you can visit https://jaro.in/ .I hope you will find it useful.

@ Tauseef Alam -- thanks for ur reply. @ Isha Singh -- I will go through that website :)

I suggest you to go for a Full time programme instead of a distance degree. Managerial Skills are not acquired by cramming before exams. And for a Chartered Accountant, distant MBA is useless in my experience. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the universities which you have listed as both of them are premier universities. But the degree you are choosing to do is inappropriate and may only waste your time and efforts. Most of the  Chartered Accountants lack communication skills as it is like a correspondence course though it is not. ICAI has initiated several programmes such as Orientation and GMCS to establish a different direction in a student's mind when it comes to the Corporate Environment. So try acquiring the skills which you don't have by targetting top B-schools or instead of wasting time for a Distance MBA, go for CPA/CFA/FRM which have more value.

A degree one must earn which enhances and enriches knowledge. There is no point in doing courses that are just ornamental and cosmetic, because at the end of the day, they do not carry credible weightage.

Absolutely stay away from Distance MBA or an MBA which is just for the heck of the degree. My simple filter to decide this is

  • Either You do an MBA from top 10-15 Colleges in India or You don't
  • MBA is not done for the sake of a degree because, no regulation requires an MBA as a compulsory requirement
  • Placements. Finally the status of the college decides which kind of companies will come.

So I hope that helps
