In my classroom invigilator prohibited is from marking anything in MCQ Q PAPER..but even i could not control and made some ticks by pen.. I don't think that will be an issue!!!
as per icai rules ,there is no rule which prohibits to tick on mcq question paper
but ticking in question paper is not taken in to account for valuation
but ticking in question paper is not taken in to account for valuation
marking on paper is considered to be a method of cheating.. however u may mark lightly to erase it later.. as it won't be taken into account by the checker..

I agree that there is no specific rule but there are clear instructions that you should not write anything in the question paper please kindly see point no. 20 in 7th page of IPC (Old Syllabus) hall ticket mam.
But I think it will not be a issue at all marking in the question paper but its better not to mark on it either on descripttive paper or on objective paper and more importantly on objective paper
