Make your usb pen drive - a bootable operating system

Make your USB pen drive - a portable & bootable Operating System with Racy Puppy with two steps.

A pen drive or any flaash drive with a persistent operating system is useful.

If the computer's operating system cannot boot up, a flaash drive OS should detect its files to save and maybe even get the boot up problem fixed.

A pen drive OS that works from RAM and has encryption is comparatively more secure than a hard drive OS.

A good pen drive OS can be used on most computers, old and new.

I recommend Racy puppy. It is the only portable os that I've been able to use to easily get connected to the internet. If you have Dialup modem then try Warry Puppy.

1. You can download it from below page.

https://puppylinuxnews.org/home/new-racy-puppy/

It is a ISo image of racy-puppy. To tranfer this ISO to pendrive, we need one software to do this.

2. So download unetbootin from below page.

https://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

So now run unebootin as shown in the above page & make your USB Pen drive a bootable with portable OS. i.e. you can boot from any machine that have bootable option from USB. Now-a-days most of the machnes have many bootable options including USB.

When you start your machine you can see the option to Boot e.g. some will show F12 to have boot options, others may have F2 to boot or you need to customize your bios setting to work with bootable options. For this you may contact your admin to change this setting for you.

You requried atleast minimum of 1 GB pendrive & 8GB & more will be good to store other files on pendrive.

Enjoy new bootable pendrive experience on many machine you worked.

If you are a new read more info.

Racy Puppy is a free operating system and a special build of Puppy Linux meant to make computing easy and fast.

Racy Puppy enables you to save money while doing more work, even allowing you to do magic by recovering data from destroyed PCs or by removing malware from Windows.

With Racy Puppy, you can carry your programs and data anywhere.

Just use a CD or USB flaash to boot a PC. Racy Puppy is downloadable as ISO, an image that can be burned to CD or DVD or USB.

It is Fast - Because Racy Puppy is small, it can live in your PC's memory and be ready to quickly execute your commands, whereas in other systems, programs are first read from drive storage before being executed.

It Saves Money - Even if your PC has no hard disk (ex, broken hard disk), you can still boot racy Puppy via CD or USB and continue working. Old PCs that no longer work with new systems will still work good-as-new with Racy Puppy.

Racy Puppy boots in less than a minute, even in old PCs, and it does not require antivirus software. You just have to take care of your data, which you can easily save to USB flaash (Then forget about your operating system!). Your data can be read by other computers.

Help your friends suffering from computer malware by booting Racy Puppy and removing malware from their PC (use antivirus that is built-in or can be installed in Racy Puppy). Example - bad Autorun.inf is easily removed by Racy Puppy (Just delete it as well as its companion exe program). If your friend thinks that he\she has lost data from her corrupted hard disk, boot Racy Puppy and try saving his\her data!

You can carry it anywhere (Portable), because Racy Puppy is able to live in CD/DVD or USB flaash, as well as save data to these same devices, you can carry your programs and data with you.

Are you now ready to use Racy Puppy?

You don't have to install Puppy (to hard disk) to use it. Simply burn the ISO to CD/DVD/USB and boot the PC or laptop with it.

You don't have to save data to hard drive to work with Racy Puppy. You can save data to USB flaash or even to Internet storage (like www.drop.io ).

When installed to USB flaash, Racy Puppy consumes only a little over 100 MB, or about 256 MB with other Office software. You can use the same USB flaash (where Racy Puppy is installed) for saving data.

Linux version of Epic browser will be coming soon. Till you can try below steps to run it.

Install latest version of WINE , if it is not installed already.

If you are using Ubuntu or any other Linux Distro, then your best option will be to use the latest Wine software. With it you can easily run any games or softwares that are originally Windows based. However, you will need the setup file of Windows version of the Epic Browser in order to install it to your Linux OS. So, you can follow the following steps to install the epic browser into your Linux Operating System.

Steps to follow:
1. Download the latest Wine application, preferably from the console.

To Download Wine from the console, use the following syntax:-
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine

2. After installation of Wine has been completed, you can run the setup file of the Epic Browser that you have already downloaded, by using the following command string:-
wine epic-setup.exe

3. Now, your installation wizard will begin and you can install the browser as normally done with any other installation file in Windows.

4. After the installation has been completed, you can get your epic browser under Applications -> Wine -> Programs -> Epic.

Now you can also run your Free Aquralite Accounting software, Tally Software, other windows games, etc. under Linux via Wine.

Note: To know what is Wine and what are the various advantages of using Wine, please read further.

What is Wine in Linux?

Wine is a free software that is available for Linux users that enables one to run Windows based application and programs in Linux. It is an open source project that aims at the implementation of Windows API within the Linux platform. The 'Wine Project' was initiated by Bob Amstadt and Eric Youngdale way back in 1993. It took nearly 14 long years before the first official version of Wine was announced on June 17, 2008. There has been momentous improvement in the functionality of the project with every new version that was released thereafter. Support for Wine is provided by many operating systems that includes Mac OS X, Sun Solaris, Open BSD, Free BSD in addition to Linux.

Linux being an open source project, people often tend to stay away due to lack of customer support and company assurance and fear that there will be no help if anything goes wrong while using it.  The use of Linux has seen a major boost in the recent years because of some of the prodigious features that it has incorporated within it, so thats why our Government office use it.

The availability of Wine has accelerated the world wide adaptation of Linux and has generated a multitudinous testimony of its success and user complacency.

It can also be said that almost all the Linux users are now adopting Wine to run Windows executable which in turn has been encouraging among the computer enthusiastic.

Conclusion:

We can expect that a large base of computer users will be switching back to Linux and make use of some of the very useful features bundled therein, Wine being a standing example among many.
