MAFA is concept based.. if ur concept is not clear its tough to clear this subject.. Do go for practice manual as it will be a gr8 help for u. o not stress much on theory as sometimes very vague questions are asked which can be answered only if ur conceptually strong..

Get j b gupta dvd lactures and book published by taxmann.

Purvi Ankit is right,  if u have understood concepts MAFA is very easy & highly scoring otherwise  its very tough. May 2012 paper was purely conceptual.  You can

bu y book on SFM  BY CA K.PAPNEJA  it is very good and covers all concepts with large number of solved quesions also  it covers RTP, Practice  Manual etc. He has been teaching mafa in delhi for last 20 years, my principal recommended me his name .Even his student secured highest marks in SFM 90.

Thanks for all the suggestions..

I know its very imp. to clear all the concepts for MAFA...bt i dnt think my concepts are that poor..
I think i need more practice and thats the reason m asking for the suggestion of book.

the book with dvd will help you...

Dear

Refer JB gupta sir book for concepts and try questions from practice manual...i scored 71 in MAFA by self study..

All the best

i have got exemption in mafa i will suggest you to go that group that subject in three parts 1 capital budgeting  and its components, 2 forex and derivatives and others topics, capital budgeting we know just revise and the various components are its application just go through, others like portfoli mgt, merger are formula related wrute formula  memorise as per your convenient and derivatives and forex are logical and conceptual. dont folllow  any book just solve practise mannual and for forex topics sridhar book is quite handy.....

Hi..

Try solving questions from any classes updated notes, coz those are always inclusive of all types of problems and they are also T3 ( i.e. Tried, Tested and Trusted) by many's. I did it from Prime Vission (Classes, Mumbai) notes for practice as that is good enough, as i manage to get an exemption in mafa in my 1st attempt itself.

Secondly, dont ignore theory portion,if any, as if ur problem solution is wrong than direct zero but thats normally not the case in theory unless u dont write relating to the topic.

And yaa my suggestion is dont opt for any authors book as those will include lots many things which are never ask by ICAI since long time plus during exam days we feel nervus and get frustated ....i know we cant under-estimate ICAI but some sort of risk will always be present in each cases...

All the best

Hi Purvi,  I suggesed Papneja Sir's book b'coz it contains  theory as well as more than 800 fully solved questions including past 25 years suggested and all available material of ICAI, huge variety on Forex , Derivatives ,Portfolio ,SWAP, and all new concepts in self explanatory language. I thought it should serve ur purpose
