LTA and medical are not taxable up to certain limit  for madical reimbursement the limit is Rs. 15000/- in a year and for LTA  two travelling in a Block year (in a block year 4 years are covered).

I think your employer is paying you lessor amount from the limit. just check with your employer.

you can not do anything for the last financial year (i.e. 2008-09) for medical reimbursement if you have not claimed the tax benefit. If you have not received LTA for the last year and you have travel bills  than you can get income tax benefit in the current year (benefit can be claimed for 2 years in the block of 4 yrs. current block is 2006 to 2009)

Yes aditya is right. You cannot do anything for last year as far as medical reimbursement is concerned and you can claim LTA upto 31st december 2009 as the block is completing on the said date.

Hi guys--My query was for FY 2008-2009 , I had already taken a Medical reimbursement of 15000, LTA of 30000. since i could not produce bills in time to my employer , they have deducted TAX on above & rest amount paid to me , how ever i am having the bills with me & wish to cliam it now in IT return . what is the process.

you cannot claim LTA in IT return.  What ever is given in Form16 can only be claimed.
