Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the applicability of indexation for long-term capital gains (LTCG) on the sale of listed equity shares held for over a year. While indexation is generally not available under Section 112A, which imposes a 10% tax on gains exceeding £100,000, an alternative tax rate of 20% with indexation is possible if Section 112A benefits are not claimed.

Yes , Indexation is allowed.

No Indexation Benefit under section 112A on LTCG on Equity share

No where it's mentioned INDEXATION not available for Long term assets being unlisted shares. INDEXATION is not available on Long term assets being unlisted shares to non residents
If it's case of 112A then no indexation...other case then 20% tax with indexation or 10% without indexation.

If assessee want to take benefit of sec.112A, than no benefit of indexation claim and tax rate apply @ 10% on capital gain above rs. 100000, while if assessee want to take benefit of indexation than tax rate apply 20%.
