Is there any difference between Limited liablity partnership & partnership?

1. In LLP count of members can exceed 20.
2. Overiding principle of " Partners are liable jointly & severally"

LLP has to file returns with ROC and in partnership no return with ROC.
i ask 1 question ,why llp is introduse in now and what diff between company or llp?
