LIFE IS A GAME WITH A GLORIOUS PRIZE

Life is a game, says the poet, and if it is a game, it must have rules about how to play it. What are the rules of the game of life?

1.     1.  Be fair as you play it. Play well, irrespective of whether you win or loss the game.

2.    2.   True sportsmanship lies in accepting the result—whether victory or defeat without any grudges whatsoever.

3.     3.  It also lies in not entertaining any feelings of jealousy against the person who has excelling you in terms of achievement. Try to learn rejoicing in others’ joy.

4.     4. And try again, if you play well, you will win next time.

Life is a game with a glorious prize,

If we can only play it right.

It is give and take, built and break

And often it ends in a fight;

But he surely wins who honestly tries

Regardless of wealth or fame,

He can never despair who plays a fair—

How are you playing the game?

Do you wilt1 and whine2, if you fail to win

In the manner you think you’re due?

Do you sneer3 at the man in case that he can,

And does, do better than you?

Do you take your rebuffs4 with a knowing grin5?

Does your faith hold true when the whole world’s blue?

HOW ARE YOU PLAYING THE GAME?

1.       to act in a weak manner

2.       to complain

3.       to mock at, to look contemptuously at

4.       criticisms

5.       a broad smile
