Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the meaning of 'To' and 'By' in ledger accounts, particularly in relation to 'c/d' and 'b/d' balances. The consensus is that 'To' typically represents credit entries and 'By' represents debit entries. The nature of the account (real, nominal, or personal) dictates the application of debit and credit rules, such as 'debit what comes in, credit what goes out' for real accounts.

To is credit

By is debit

I think this ledger account is nature of real account debit what comes in

Credit what goes out

IAM I correct

It depends upon the ledger name eg.

expenses ledger- nominal

Capital- personal

Assets- real

liabilities- real

Ok nice 👍😊
