LEAVE TRAVEL CONCESSION

934 views 4 replies

An employee alongwith wife travelled from 01.10.2008 to 10.10.2008 and claimed LTA exemption under section 10(15)-

He wants to claim exemption for his daughter's travel from 15.12.2008 to 20.12.2008 under 10(15) which the daughter has undertaken the travel alone.

Can he claim exemption for both the travels-for his travel and daughter's travel at different dates

yes , he can claim the exemption for both the travels, but he cannot claim further exemptions u\s 10(15) for the present block 2006 to 2009.

10(15) covers employee and family members. The employee need not accompany with the family members. He is eligible for both.
