leave period in articleship

Its "1/6th of the articleship period actually served" ,,,,,, u can chk it by downloading Training Guide at icai.org , that contains illustrative examples for calculating leaves

The formula for calculating leave is (Total No. of Days Worked - Leave taken)/6...suppose ur articles period is for 3 yearsand u have taken leave for 160 days means , the allowable leave ll be calculated as  (1095-160)/6 .i.e. 156 days and you have taken an extra leave of 4 days....the leave taken by reducing with ur period of leave any excess hours worked...suppose ur office is working for 6 days a week,you need to work 6hrs. a day to satisfy inst. requirements of 35 hrs. per week..in case you have extra worked by 6 hrs one week.you can reduce ur leave by 1 day
