I am not filled the ER 1 return within due date. The department has issued show cause notice for it. I am need strong reason for present with him. I am agreed with him payment of penulty Rs.5000.

if GAR 7 ( payment of duty ) is made within the due date i.e 5/6th ( for e payment) and the return is filed late, then there are so many points viz not working of ACES site properly etc.
share the exact fact to discuss the issue more.
