u manufacture two main products in the same process then they are joint products..

if the second item is incidental then its by product..

If same Process is used for producing 2 or more products . These products are called Joint products

Joint Product- Two or more products separated in the course of same processing operation. All the products hae equal importance.

By- Product- Products recovered from material discarded in the main process. These have small economic value.
