Itr2 foreign asset categorisation

ITR Filing 936 views 2 replies

How does one categorise foreign shares bought through RBI liberalised scheme held in a foreign brokerage account in the ITR2 form for AY2012-13, ie is it categoised under:

- Schedule FA - B: Details of Financial Interest in any Entity (shares held in co x, y, z ...); or

- Schedule FA - D: Schedule of any other asset.

Also, if the brokerage account is held in joint name, would the foreign shares held need to be disclosed in both the joint account holders returns, or just the first holder, who funded the purchase of shares?

Appreciate your revert on both the above queries:

1. Categorisation of foreign shares in ITR2

2. Joint holders disclosure only the first holders return or both holders.

I have this same question right now.

How to report the foreign brokerage account, and then how to report any shares held in it. also, will dividends paid be attributable to shares or to the brokerage account?

Does anyone know the answer to this old question?

thanks

anyone have any ideas?
