Hi, I have filed my tax return under ITR1.Then I realised that I need to declare some foreign assets(company stocks). Now I don't see any option to revise from ITR 1 to ITR 2. How do I proceed?

The return was for which A.Y.?
Does assessment for that F.Y. has been completed?

if its for this year, revise it is assessment not done

This is for this financial year only. But I am not able to revise it from ITR1. IT'S not allowing me to change the type from ITR1 to ITR 2

I tried filling fresh ITR2 but it's not allowing me. Then I tried revising it by giving the ITR1 acknowledgement no but it's saying not a valid acknowledgement no. I am guessing this is happening because of the type of ITR forms.

Mr.Abhijit, in this situation download ITR-2 excel utility, fill it and generate XML file and then try to upload it. If still any problem persists let us know

Hello Harshal,

I tried the Java Utility(alternate to the Excel Utility).I generated XML and tried to Upload like that only.While trying to upload it says acknowledge no not matching.

There is no problem with the ACK no as I just copy pasted it from the previous ITR form.

Do you think it is a techincal problem or this is the norm?
