dear colleagues
gud evng,
AY 20-21 ka ITR U file krne me problems aa rhi hai...
aap sabhi bhi face kr rhe hai kya
actually oct. me 1000/- late fees pay krke return file ho rhe the...
lekin me kal se try kr rha hu return file nhi ho rhe hai....
ye error aa rhi hai:-

"if net amount payable is zero,then you are not allowed to file ITR -U"

So request all of you to get this resolved as soon as possible🙏🙏

You need to pay atleast 1 re as tax in the updated return
ITR-U is for showing your increased income which you failed to show in the original return
Increase in income eventually leads to increase in the payment of taxes
So if you are filing ITR U then you need to pay atleast 1 Re as tax as your income has increased

Enter the the late fees paid details under the schedule of section 140 instead of self assessment tax

Akshat sir mene already 120/- tax show kr rkha hai
or 1000/- late fees bhi pay kr di hai
fir bhi return file nhi ho rha hai
or ye hi error aa rhi hai

You have to fill details under different schedule of ITR. Section 140

muje shyad clear nhi ho rha hai ki kaise file kran hai
toh me aapse consult krke ek baar file krna chahta hu
actually 3-4 din se ye work due hai

I am also facing the same issue. so please guide me also, how to show payment of Rs.1000 under section 140. I selected self assessment tax, while made the payment of 1000. so will there be any issue in that case? should I make another payment of 1000 using section 140? and if yes, how to do that? please guide me. there are 3 clients of mine, who want to file ITR U for some loan application formalities, but we are not able to do it due to this above mentioned error. Please help..🙏🙏

Errors are shown initially stating that ITR U can't be filed without tax liability.

And if you try without adding payment then still errors are coming

Finally submitted after experiments
