u should have to fill itr 4 bcse tution income is an professional incom
if tuition income is provided on part time basis then you can also file itr 2 otherwise itr 4.
You can file ITR-2 and show tuition income under the head Income from other sources
You file itr 4 u added agri. Income because your mother income more than 5000 for point intregation ..second condition is your mother income is exceed basic limit......also said as other source income.....

Friends, Thanks for your quick responses. I am bit confused with responses.

- Do i need to file both ITR-2 and ITR-4S ?

- What is the max limit for agriculture income for tax exemption.?

- Tution income is part time income, so what form is required.

Please help.

Thanks

Sachin

first of all, you can either file itr-2 or 4s. you cant file both..... now let me help you choose, itr-1 and 4s can be filed only when exempt income is upto 5000 but in your case agriculture income is more than 5000 so you are left with itr 2,3 and 4. no need to file itr 3 because there is no income from partnership firm. now only two options itr 2 and 4. the only diff between these itr is that itr 4 includes business income, which in your case is nil. so here is your answer, ITR 2.

I also have tuition income. So will that also go into  itr2? Or I will need a separate itr for that I.e. Itr4?

@ sachin... only one itr can be filed for a year... you cant file multiple itr for diff. sources of income.. as i said, itr 2 is applicable in your case, then all your income will be shown in this itr only. tuition income to be shown under the head other sources and agriculture income to be shown under exempt income...... i hope you dont have any confusion now.. if any, feel free to ask.

ITR 2 should be filled unless your mother is running professional coaching classes. Home tutions can be listed as income from other sources. Mr sushil Do u mean fy 14-15.? Because time has expired for Fy 13-14 as of March 31 ..2015 U will have to calculate tax on normal income after adding agriculture income and then deducting tax on only agricultural income.

Dear sir

during filing my online itr i come across only 2 option itr-1 and itr4s but i have agriculture income & have to file itr-2.so pls suggest me how i can amend my prepare and submit itr to itr-2

Person having income from business [water tank supply] and agriculature income [excedding 50k].   Which ITR will be fill and how and where will be agricualture income show ??

Kindly guide.

Dear Sachin,

ITR 4 is to be filed. Mention the agricultural income in Schedule EI. Agricultural income is exempt income as per law but practically reabte for tax on agricultural income is to be claimed. Such tax calculations will be done automatically in ITR Utility.
