Itr for when gift received

ITR 611 views 5 replies

I have salary income, now I got 5 lakh as gift through cheque from my father (he return ITR ) I also get rs 6 lakh from mother PPF account after her death. now i want to know which ITR form I have to use and where it should be indicated. or there is no need to show it in ITR.

itr-2 to be used... you are to show gift received in itr.

I am unable to find the option in the form (ITR-2) for gift received.

you are reqd to show that under exempt income

I have to show it in column 5 of EI Others, (including exempt income of minor child)????

yep.... thats correct... you have to show it there
