For FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27), the ITR filing deadline is determined by the taxpayer and whether a tax audit is required.

July 31, 2026- Individuals and other taxpayers do not require a tax audit
August 31, 2026 - Business/professional taxpayers are not liable for a tax audit.
October 31, 2026 - Taxpayers' accounts are subject to tax audit.
November 30, 2026 - Taxpayers covered by transfer pricing provisions.

If the initial due date is missed, a belated return can often be submitted until December 31, 2026, subject to the appropriate circumstances and late-filing charge.

Before submitting, make sure you know the deadline for your individual ITR and taxpayer type.
