Its business income and hence reflect in 'P&L acc.' and 'BP' sheets..
In case profits declared are more than 8% of turnover (be below 2cr).. the same may be declared under 'No accounts maintained option'

Partnership firm dissolved in FY 2017-18 and one out of two partners expired in July 18
Is it necessary / compulsory to file ITR for AY 2018-19?
Please note that the said firm was running in loss from last few years.

Yes, ITR should be filed for the AY 2018-19, with the accounts as of closing date, (may be nil turnover & zero profit)....
