Please Help!
1) Dividends from Mutual Funds are exempt u/s 10(35) in the hands on the investor.
2) I file ITR-2
3) Ideally these tax free dividends should be entered in the Tab EI. However, in the subtab
Others exempt income, (including exempt income of minor child) there is no dropdown option for Sec 10(35).
Please help?
Yes, there you have to manually fill the details of the dividend with section.
I did try to enter the Dividends from Mutual Funds - but while entering the details the EXcel spreadsheet (preparation utility) give out a message "select from list" - essentially meaning the Excel spreadsheet does not allow entering it manually.
