After I filled in all the required fields in ITR 1, I validated each sheet and everything was ok. But when I tried to generate the XML file, the following dialogue box appears - "Please correct tax status on Income Sheet Details", followed by the message "Please correct the errors and generate XML again" and then it switches back to income details sheet. There is a difference of Re. 1 between tax calculated as per the return and tax as per Form 16. Do I need to make adjustments in the Salary figure?

If you r filling in excel format then on 1st worksheet named income details, you will find tax status with option of nil, refund or payable. Select relevant option nd then try to generate xml file.
