Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether Input Tax Credit (ITC) is allowed on motorcycles purchased for business purposes, specifically for medicine wholesale. While Section 17(5) of the GST Act generally disallows ITC on vehicles with a seating capacity below 10, there's a debate about its application to goods transportation. The consensus leans towards ITC being permissible if the bike is strictly for business use, with advice to capitalise the asset and claim the credit.

. Allowed
Not allowed.
As per sec 17(5), no ITC allowed for vehicles having seating capacity below 10.

Strict Interpretation of Law shall be done in these case so reading the provision under 17(5) restricts ITC on Motor vehicle used for transportation of passenger and Not the Motor vehicle used for transportation of Goods. In your case you shall capitalise the Bike and claim ITC.

Ok thanks
