I am facing an Issue while filing ITR2 form AY2021-22 online on 1st Aug 2021 (today). A penalty of 5000/- INR for late filing (section 234F) is being levied, although the deadline for AY2021-22 is extended to 30th Sep 2021. Is anyone else facing this issue and is it this a bug in the software?

I am also facing the same problem. Last few weeks the portal wasn't working and while submission I was getting a schema error. Now from 1st August system adds Rs. 5000 as penalty for delayed filing. Seems system is not considering the 2 month extension declared. Raised a query to support awaiting the response.
The issue got fixed today. The system has removed the penalty for delayed filing and I could complete my return filings. Thanks to all who responded to my query above.
