Is witness mandatory in a partnership deed?

Hello,

Some of us wanted to start a partnership deed and drafted a partnership deed. All partners signed on it and we also got it notarised in front of an authorised notary. However there were no witnesses. Is a partnership deed valid without any witness signatures? Will we face any problem while applying for registration of deed or while getting PAN, GST. or other Government documents?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Rakesh

An expert clarifies that witnesses are indeed mandatory for a partnership deed.

I haven't seen a partnership deed without witnesses.
