we are a Civil Contractor and we have hired some agencies to complete the work i.e sub contractor. we had paid regularly our Proff Tax on our staff to the Department, now we had received notice from Proff Tax Office that we are liable for Proff Tax of our Sub contractor also. if they are not registered and though they are registered and had not paid their liability then we had to bear that as we are principal contractor?
Sir, i am confused that Proff Tax is liable for Labour also and whether we are liable for Sub Contractor Proff Tax also???
Please guide us as the Proff Tax Officer has levied us a huge amount notice to us
