Is it required for form 4 DIN

As per my understanding the attachment required in this form should be in line with the changes for which this form is filed.The main purpose of attaching documents is to proof authenticity of the changes. Hence there is no requiremnet to mandatorily attach identity proof and address proof unless the form is being filled for any changes related to the identity or address of the person.

is it required to attached PAN Card or not ?

Earlier the PAN of the applicant was not mandatory in field in DIN e-form 1. In order to examine DIN-4 e-form through the system and to avoid duplicate DIN, it has been decided that all existing DIN holders who have not furnished their PAN earlier at the time of obtaining DIN, are required to furnish their PAN by filing DIN-4 e-form by 31-May-2011

Mandatory fields

1) Name of the applicant

2) Father’s Name of Applicant

3) Date of Birth

4) PAN # for all Nationals

5) Passport in case of all foreign nationals

How to check whether PAN is updated or not?

There are two ways

1) Prefill DIN in Form 1A if PAN column has prefilled means it has got updated.

2) Use option Get DIN Application where the DIN applications reveals whether the Director has given PAN while applying DIN.

If you are updating PAN you have to attach PAN Card copy

No, only the proof of change is requried to be attached. At this time if form DIN-4 is to be filed only for updation of PAN details only the declaration as specified in form DIN-4 and self attested copy of PAN Card is required to be attached.

Id proof and address proof suffient for DIN but if not produced the PAN as ID proof it is essence to make the DIN PAN based, so require to file DIN 4 attaching the self attested PAN card of the concerned Director.
