CA foundation is better then CPT. 

CA Foundation is a part of the revised scheme introduced by the ICAI. CA Foundation is an entry level test designed for the students who want to pursue the CA Course. Exams for the CA Foundation will conduct twice in a year in May and November. CA Foundation is replacing the current entry-level test CPC (Common Proficiency Course).  A student after appearing in 12th examination can register for the CA Foundation course. 

The ICAI executed its plan to make the entry-level difficult, not like IIT-JEE or PMT but better than CPT, in the form of CA Foundation. As we all know that CA Course is easy to enter and difficult to exist. CPT is considered much easier compared to its other two levels i.e. CA Intermediate and CA Final. So, in order to fill this gap, an initiative has been taken by the ICAI by replacing CPC with the CA Foundation.

CA Foundation is better than CPT. ICAI change the entrance level exam of CA, now CA foundation is the entrance exam of CA course as replacement of CPT. ICAI makes some changes in the syllabus of entrance exam. In CA foundation, two new subjects have also introduced, after seeing their importance, General English and Business and Commercial Knowledge. 

CA foundation exams contain 400 marks comparing to CPT which contain 200 marks. CA foundation divided into four subjects, two subjects are subjective and other two are objective. The paper pattern of CA foundation is partially subjective and partially objective. Four subjects of CA foundation are:

1. Principles and practices of Accounting(100 Marks)
2. Business Laws and Business Correspondence and reporting  (100 Marks)
   • Business Laws (60 Marks)
   • Business Correspondence and Reporting (40 Marks)
3. Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning and Statistics. (100 Marks)
   • Business Mathematics(40 Marks) and Logical Reasoning (20 Marks)
   • Statistics (40 Marks)
4. Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge (100 Marks)
   • Business Economics(60 Marks)
   • Business and Commercial Knowledge (40 Marks)

 The first paper in CA Foundation is Principles and Practices of Accounting which is replacing Fundamentals of Accounting, second paper is Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting in which a new subject General English has added. The above two papers will be subjective in the upcoming CA Foundation exams. However, the third paper is of Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Statistics and paper four is Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge, in which Business and Commercial Knowledge has newly added.  The last-second papers will be objective same as earlier.
