Hello anyone, I just had a doubt after almost completing preparation of 6 chapters from Manish ISCA book that, is it enough to prepare from his book to score 50Marks? I have tried preparing from ISCA module but I could not continue because its too much heavy and that lowered my confidence. Can anyone who prepared from Manish's book share your experiences pls. I need atleast 50 from ISCA

I am also using M.Valecha's Book. U should read study material 1-2 times and then revise using M.Valecha.

I u don't want to do SM. Then, u must be thorough with PM. Then, cut down those questions (which are in PM) in M.Valecha's Book. And for remaining topics read M.Valecha. It can fetch u around 60 marks.

Thanks for the reply. And the practice manual which is revised doesn't cover all topics. Have u done study material 1-2 times?

Yes, I am also reading SM as I am targeting 70+ in ISCA and banking on this subject to clear group-2.

I think ISCA & IDT are 2 comparatively easy papers in group where we can target 60+.

But, if u r looking for only 50-60 marks in ISCA then Manish Valecha + PM is enough.

Yes I'm targeting for 50marks in isca as I got exemption with 66marks in IDT last attempt. Thank you and all the best
U R Welcome. Did u take classes for IDT. If not, please share your strategy for IDT.
Mine was self study for IDT. I can't say that this is the best strategy for IDT but this was what I followed and true 100%. I followed bangar book and practice manual . I totally focused on service tax and left the ftp topic completely. Excise too I have done completely. I had concentrated much on valuation parts of all the topics and didn't left any problem in the book. I have studied all the cases from rtp and caselaws book. I hav mentioned the names of the cases for three out of 4 in the exam. I revised service tax many times. One thing to say is its not required to read every topic but have to concentrate much on important . I haven't touched the common topics portion too. I had very little time in the last attempt to say its just 9 days because I delivered my baby by that time and decided to write only IDT paper for exemption. Feel free to ask any doubts further.
If you prepare common topics, especially the procedural chapters.. Your score will definitely increase. Because small questions are framed from these topics which help us to score better.

Thanks Mandakini Ma'm and Saba Ma'm for ur guidance.

Is it important to study entire customs to score exemption ?

valuation part of custom is more important for practical questions specially

Thank you :)
