Could someone pls tell me whether for ipcc, ICAI 's study material is sufficient or reference books are required???...if ref. bks are required, pls tell me why...i.e..reference books are required for practising more problems or is it because the theory given in study material is insufficient?

Complete reliance on ICAI Study Mat is not a good idea. So reference books are required for exam preperation and practice more problems. But for course length reference from study mat is recommended.

Thank you for your valuable suggestion.

jasmin which subject you want

I just asked in general...b'cos some say that the study material contains very rich information as far as theory is concerned and only practical problems are less.....whereas others say that ref. bks are quite necessary for all subjects.....that's y i asked for clear advice...

According to me  following are the good books .

ACCOUNT  Only coaching notes and study material are suffiecent

Audit  Aruna jha

law  G K Kapoor

Tax  vinod singhania

 I T  study material

S m study material.

Hiiiii  jasmin,

As far as IPCC student is concerned, u can easily crack the theory papers (Law, Audit........) with th study material provided by institute...... but for Tax u need to go for ref buks (Singania ,Manoharan.....) as the institute material may not giv u recent amendmends.... n for gettin versd wit more practical problems.... Scanner  will do the job for other subjects...

Best wishes for ur Exams....

with reference to IPCC/PCC -

For Accounting, go for the two volumes by Aggrawaal & Shukla. It's good at building basic concepts & theory. If you want more problems then go for the two volumes by PC Tulsian. But avoid its theory, it's confusing.
