IPCC old course student ...wants to start Articleship and then go for the exam

I am an IPCC (old course) student through the CPT route and since I did not clear the exam in my previous attempts I wish to start articleship and
then give the exam later on. I need guidance on how should I go about this. Not sure if I should convert to the new CA inter course and then can i start articleship without giving the CA Inter exam or swtich to Direct Entry Scheme then undergo 9 months articleship. And I would like to know the procedure for the same.
