For starting with basic you should refer Tulsian's from S.Chand, this book contains stepwise procedure of topics with basic questions upto high level questions.

@ Vishal

For deep conceptual theory of Costing IPCC, what your sir suggested is correct. The author is Jain and Narang - Cost Accounting. But for practical problems in addition to Jain book, it is advisable to refer Tulsian also. Both these will fulfill what you need, if you get perfection with those. It is worth to refer institute module and its problems also, because the revised institute material is made simply understood and student friendly. All compilations and RTPs are also to be referred before exams to score gud marks. All the best.

I support both the above suggestions

And remember what ever u do make sure tht u clear ur cost concepts in intermediate level only or else u ll have to suffer for the final
