Interest U/s 234A

My income tax filing due date was on 31st Jul 2020, however entire self assessment including interest u/s 234A was paid on 15th September only. Now I am going to file return let say on 7th of October 2020. Now my query is, whether I need to pay additional amount of interest for the month of October u/s 234A.?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the application of interest under Section 234A for late income tax filings. If your tax and Section 234A interest for August and September were paid in September, you generally won't incur additional interest even if you file your return in October or November. This is especially true if the due date for your return was extended, as was the case for many taxpayers for FY 2019-20.

If it is for FY 19-20 , then due date for return of Individual who is not required to tax audit ( Normal Taxpayers)  is extended 30th November from 31st July....Hence there is no delay in filing return.

At present Assessee having self-assessment liability of above 1 lakh, are required to pay interest u/s 234A, if return is filed after their original date of return filing..
Sunil ji, If you paid your tax along with interest 234A (for 2 months i.e August and September) in September, 2020
Than Not required to pay any additional interest, whether you will file your return in October, 20 or November, 20
