Hi
I am filling ITR 1 and have filled up all the necessary details of taxes paid etc. however excel utility is calculating interest on tax which i paid today. Interest should be levied as due date has been extended from 31st July to 31 Aug-12.
I am using excel utility given on incometaxindiaefilling.gov.in
Please advice

Try Mr.Sridhar's suggestion otherwise change the date of your system and put a back date and modify your date of filing accordingly and give it a try ....
As per my opinion, Date was extended to file the return not to deposit the tax. So, the interest calculation of excel utility is correct.
Dear sushil u can manually change intereste figure in xls sheet.
change is manually and fill 0.
