86 views and one reply..i really need help on this..kindly reply..i wanna know how flexible will they be wen it comes to classes...

 this is wat i was able to comprehend from ur message..u mean to say for evry 7 working days we can take 1 day leave..i undergo 3 1/2 yrs of articleship training.. does it mean that i can take 182 days of leave which come up to almost 6 months??kindly correct me if i'm wrong..

This is Sameer. I am currently doing industrial training.Answer to your ques. are:

Ans-1 It depends on the organisation totally and your relationship with you boss.Yes you can get time for classes.Normally the workpressure is less as compared to middle and high level CA firms.

Ans-2 If you are planning to join industry after completing your ca, then IT is definitely a Plus because industries would more likely prefer industry exp.

Ans-3 Working with audit firms sets a base for you and if you are working in any of the Big 4, then i would not advice you to go for IT Otherwise IT is a Gooood option.The Reason why many people do not join IT is because of some silly regulations of ICAI on IT.

Ans-4 As mentioned by a buddy above, 1/7 of the period served i.e 182 days in 3 1/2 years of articleship.

So if we go for IT and the employer denies to give timings for classes we'll be stuck there..quite risky is it not?

And bout the leave days many of firms dont agree to give that much of leave even tough we are eligible for it.wat can be done about it?

Hi Anjali,

Yes, if the employer denies,then it is obvious... but it is same in normal articleship.What i would suggest you is that if you are going for IT ,you can negotiate the timings at the time of interview(not upfront) and even companies give exam holidays too which can also be negotiated while interview.So, don't loose heart, it is Possible.

About your query on leave eligiblity, let me tell you that this is an upper limit and articles can persuade their principal for the Eligible leaves.However if you decide to get your leaves forcibly, Practically speaking it would strain your relationship with your boss and i hope you understand the aftermaths.

Finally, If you are going for IT, Do some reasearch on the companies offering IT like companies Profile,Your propective profile,whether it is a 5 day or 6 days a Week and the most important thing stiiiiipend!
