i think there is no provision in ca regulation 1988 for extension of articleship icai restrict the taking of leaves and transfer but not extension. And i heared in ajay jain sir clasa that prince jain rank holder had remain only 8 month of articleship ship but after qualifying ca in the industry adjusted his article to 9 month for the purpose of industrial training  and i think the other best alternative is to request your principal to give me scondment this the best alternative because ther no need to extend your articleship in this case minimum period of scondment is 4 month per principal not exeeding 12 month as whole

i guess by extension of articles.. there is no problem... because some of my frnds took the leave for 6 to 8 months...

which principal (i mean Where one do articleship OR Where he has to take industrial training )

scondment mean that your articleship remain carry on with you present employer that is your boss under whom you are serving your articleship but you work in industry or other good firm instead of working in this firm to gain the exposure which your present boss may not be in a position to provide the same and you just do request this boss for scondment and if he agree then fil this link  https://www.icai.org/resource_file/7526form_secondment_articles.pdf after completion of your scondment period you can take singnature of your that boss ,from whom u requested for scondment ,in form no 108 and after few day you will be sent by icai a latter of confirmation and i dont know more about prince jain.
