Indian rupee gains 2 paise against US dollar in early trade

Forex dealers said strengthening of euro and yen against the dollar overseas also supported the rupee.

The rupee had gained eight paise to close at 54.28 against the dollar yesterday.

Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark index Sens*x fell by 21.26 points, or 0.11 per cent, to 18,771.61 in early trade today.
