Can We File Income Tax Return For AY 2017-2018 Now ?? One Of My Friend Have Refund And He Failed To File His Return.

The due for filing belated return in 31/03/2018. Hence you cannot file the return u/s 139

However, when the ITD send the notice u/s 142, then quote the notice number & date of the notice to file return u/s 142.

Else,

Request for condonation of delay to file a return and if the jurisdictional Assessing Officer grants permission to, then you may file.

You cannot file the return for AY 2017-18 now.
When you receive a notice from IT department, you can file against the notice
