Hi Vijay,
Applicable form for FY 2012-13 (AY 2013-14) in his case will be,
ITR 1 but if his exempt income is exceeding Rs.5000 then use ITR 2

In case you are having an exempt income is greater than Rs 5000 so you need to file ITR 2 else ITR 1 is applicable in your case.

Hi Vikas,
Exempt income for this purpose means any part of salary which is exempt under section 10.
For example,
House Rent Allowance, Tranportation Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc.
