Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the eligibility of mutual funds under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. Specifically, it confirms that ELSS (Equity Linked Savings Scheme) mutual funds are indeed eligible for 80C deductions. It also touches upon LIC premiums, noting their eligibility provided they are within the specified limits of the assured value, and suggests reviewing any previous treatment of these investments.

ELSS category of Mutual funds are eligible for 80C deduction.

Premium paid to LIC insurance policy is also eligible for deduction provided the premium paid is upto 1/10th of Assured Value.
