In ITR1 , there is a section for type of house property. It support three values.
- Personally I am not owning any house or let-out any house property.
- Staying with parent and house is owned by my parent. I am also not paying anything to them as a rent.
What should I choose ?
What to Choose: Do not select any option. Leave the entire "Income from House Property" section completely blank or set to zero.
Why: The House Property section in ITR-1 is strictly meant for property owners declaring rental income or claiming home loan interest deductions. Since you do not own the property, it does not apply to you.
I don't know who owns the portal but this question was not posted by me.
