I have no clue how to study for B.com A&F, exams only in 5 days..whether to just read and go or study thoroughly...

I have to score good marks as my marks in CPT were only 132 and IPCC, I have just answered this november..

.

So I want at least 60 % + in my graduation..

.

Please help me how to study as I have no clue as there is no one to advice me on this..

.

If you have answered IGNOU B.com please share your experience..

.

I am sure your experience will help many others

hello... I did appear for the B.Com (A&F)exams. the papers were easy, But the checking was tough. They don't straightaway give you marks leniently. so I advice you to go through the study material thoroughly. WRITE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. My personal experience says that filling more pages fetched me more marks. All the best :)

Thanks, can you tell me how much marks you got, is it possible to score in 80s like in normal B.com collegs or we have to stick with 60s like in ICAI

Thanks for your respond

  • Don't ASSUME it is going to be easy because it is from an open university - first mistake I made in my first exams FEG-01 and 02.
  • Know the subjects, then solve the question papers. You can get away by passing the subjects (atleast >50/100) from solving the past papers, but for numerical problems you still have to know the subject.
  • The format of the question papers does not change nor does the question type asked.
  • Options are there but they are also fewer questions in the paper. From a vast subject the questions asked are very few. You need to be extremely lucky to get those questions which you are thoroughly prepared for.
  • Time is going to be a constraint, especially with 2 hour papers (at least for me.)
  • Cheating/Copying is usually not going to be successful, nor is it a good strategy (and yes, it is WRONG!). It is a poor strategy precisely because of the time constraint. Moreover, the invigilators are always watching. In one case, one of the candidates was asked to pack and leave. (I would like to know how strict is it in other centres).

I agree with gurmohena, but write it in a manner which doesn't clutter the answer sheet. Moreover, for technical subjects this strategy will not work, and for accountancy and IT it definitely will not work since a problem carrying the highest marks would be required to be compulsorily answered. Rest are optional.

Maximum marks I scored was 46/50 or 92/100 in Elements of Statistics. Others vary from 55 to 80. The poorer ones are the ones which are verbose.

All the best for your future papers.

I have read few tips on a forum mentioning how to score good marks in Ignou. To score good marks in Ignou is not difficult. All, the students need is the dedication and management of time. They should download the date sheet early to know the exam table and give priority to a difficult course in study.

Try to cover up the whole syllabus for each subject as soon as possible so that you can revise it again.

Students can read more about it at the following Ignou Student Zone forum: https://www.ignoustudentzone.in/forums/forum/ignou-discussion
