My query relates to the SSI exemption.If an assessee is availing an exemption under NN 8/2003 and he imported certain goods then will he be liable to pay CVD on imported Goods.

yes he will liable to pay CVD bcoz NN 8/2003 is for excise n CVD is related to import the goods.
n logically CVD is for imported goods for protect the domestic industry
and if SSI is importing then he is also liable for pay duty
pl correct me if i were wrong
yes, SSi notification exemption applicable only for duty on goods manufactured not on purchase
