Topic : "ERM - Enterprise Risk Management

The Lead Resource Manager Shri Rajeev Kakkad, Senior Manager from Protiviti Consulting Private Limited.

Shri Kakkad gave insights about structuring and implementing an ERM in an enterprise. Risk appetite, risk aversion and risk assessment are key indicators to travel along an ERM Plan he emphasized.

Members participated in a lively discussion while a step by step explanation was delivered by the Lead Resource Person on the ERM.

ERM was agreed as a consciousness of the key constituents of business drivers. Activity-Risk correlation is a must and its proper mapping and visualising its dynamics will help as a decision support tool. Active constituents involve in an activity of the enterprise with the aim of risk-free sustainble growth.

Evangilising the philosophy of risk consciousness among constituents is the first step and aiming continuous process improvement would go a long-way in a sustainable growth of the enterprise.

Risk assessment has evolved over time span and a schematisation was visualised post enronby the treadway commission and establishing ERM has become more a compliance based mechanism to avert ruthlessness among business leaders, it can also be used as a fall-back mechanism in case of failures .

Those who participated benefited immensely with real life case studies on implementing ERM in an Organization.

The entire session was kept alive by the participants and the lead resource person was satisfied at the end of the session. So were also the participant.

CMA Veeraraghavan Iyengar conveyed thanks to Protiviti Consulting Private Limited on behalf of Konkan Chapter of Cost Accountants for their support in conducting a lively discussion on ERM.
