I have paid more income tax than I was liable for.
This is however not due to problem in assessment. I was erroneously paid a higher salary by the treasury for a period of 4 years. Treasury, upon realising the same asked me to refund the extra amount paid which I did. However, I had paid the tax as per the higher salary. How do I go about asking for a refund?

Sir, I have received my refurnd order for the assessment year 2016-17 through postal and it was returned by postal authorities stating that address is incorrect when I was out of station. Kindly arrange to send the same at an early date.

If you have filed the return online, raise a Refund Reissue request. Fill the bank details etc, you will get the refund.
