I am currently living in Bengaluru with my wife & kids in an apartment. The house is on my wife's name. Can I pay monthly rent to my wife and will my HRA be tax exempted? My wife doesn't have any other income and she will file ITR with the rental income.
Technically feasible with proper documentation; but If you live together in the same house, it may complicate your ability to claim HRA.
