How to verify submitted ITR return after taxpayer death

If your father passed away before verifying his Income Tax Return (ITR), filed online before his death, you can still complete the verification process. The Income Tax Department allows for legal representatives to e-verify the return on behalf of the deceased taxpayer. You can add the legal representative details directly through the incometax.gov.in e-filing portal to complete the process within the stipulated 120-day timeframe.
