How to update my form 16a

TDS 543 views 5 replies

Dear Sir,

My employer deducted TDS monthly from my salary over the year and in the month of March he prepared form 16A without asking me for tax deduction certificates and so, handed over me the the form 16A certificate which reflects the income tax I have to pay is Rs. 5000.00(approx) that he has already deducted by TDS.

But, I have Rs. 92,000 of LIC certificate and if I show those in Form 16A, I do not have to pay a single rupee & I will get refund all.

My question is how will I rectify/update my Form16A or Form 26AS and file online return accordingly so that I get the refund.

Regards

check form again. FORM 16 NOT FORM 16A.

NOW REPLY  OF YOUR QUERY- simply file Income Tax Return and claim your investment.

no need of any rectification in any form.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your reply.
At the time of income tax return file, if I add Rs. 100000/- in the column tax deduction under 80C, then I do not have to pay a single rupees for tax.
But, how will I prove that I have LIC policy for that amount, because there is no such provision, so that, I can upload the scan copies of my LIC policies & in my TDS certificate & form 16 certificate my employer did not show those deduction.
Awaiting for your reply.

You don't need to worry if you have made the investment, you don't even need to give proof of investment unless called for.

You changed amount of 92,000 to 100,000. Declare what you can prove

agree with z

u don't need to attach with return the copy of lic premium receipt.

You dont need to attach any proof of investment at the time of filling of return. Just file your return with correct income and correct deduction. you will get your refund if any.
