From December 2015 Examination onwards, Institute has introduced negative marks for OMR based subjects viz., 1. CMA 2. TLP and 3. ILGL, wherein deduction of one mark for every four wrong answers and total marks obtained by the candidates in such papers would be rounded up to next whole number. That's the first important change you need to be aware.
Now coming to your query on preparation, you must lay hand on the latest Institute Study material, so that you cover the entire syllabus, as there are lot of questions which get directly picked up from the contents of the material. Referring to scanners can give you a birds eye view of the pattern of the question paper and to some extent assess the percentage of weightage assigned to some key topics/ chapters. A thorogh reading of material with atleast completing two rounds and leaving one round for revision is well adviced. During the course of preparation itself, it is ideal to have your own short handwritten notes. These notes would be of great help during the time of revision and a day before your examination. Post revision, it is highly recommended to try solving / writing past examination papers in the form of mock test and assess your level of preparedness.
One key factor to bear in mind is to keep a tab on your writing speed, as most of the papers are descripttive in nature and requires eye, mind and hand cp-ordination in order to score examplary marks. Thus time management becomes instrumental for your success.
Wish you best of luck.
