How to revise?

others 1028 views 2 replies

Dear All,

Is there any method using which the content in the study material or reference material can be made concise yet the concepts are not missed out?

In practical subjects, every problem is unique. However, the basics remain the same. Hence, how to ensure that all the basics are crystallized in one place for further study?

Is there any smart way of remembering what we read?

I acknowledge that the questions posed above are elementary and silly.

Having said that, I still make a plea to the experts to guide me.

Regards,

Laxmiram

Hello Mr. Nayak, I can tell you the way I adopted. First of all you have to give star rating to chapters like for most important give three stars, then 2 stars , then 1 star , then without stars, and start completing the syllabus with chapetrs having three star rating , and dont forget to relate and refer any point covered in another chapter. While reading any material first time make a very concise short notes of the concepts, like direct taxes, so that u have to refer only the summarised notes and not the whole text. I have made full DT summary of vinod gupta sir notes. And this really helped me a lot. Furher for practical qusetions, I have always done two things. First of all make a concept copy for you and note all the concepts in the language most comfortable to you, be it english, hindi or (Hindi + english mix). and then whenever you do questions first of all take a piece of paper and write down Question Sr. No. from 1 to ____. Then leave 4 coloumns balnk for placing tick marks against them and 6th coloumn for remarks. Now whenever u do any question place a tick against it in the first coloumn, and if not solved etc place a different mark. whenever u do the question 2nd time place tick in next coloumn. And in remarks coloumn you can write down the key concept of question , so that to revise u know where you always miss the concept and what imporatnt concepts u need to revise. then u can go to the specific question and revise the needed ones only. Dont afraid of revising the syllabus, just be confident and continue to do hard work. All of us are made of same flesh. The thing is how we deal with the things. So be confident and world will be yours.
Exams r that we used to give from the day we got into our senses. like the primary school exams, like secondary ones. and CA's is no exception to it. i always find people running upside down for finding ways for doing last time preprations of the exams. My friend, don't de-rate urself by saying ur query 'silly'. 9 out of 10 people suffers pre-exam anxiety. Even the mightiest of contender has his last time jitters. u r no exception. the difference is just he controls his anxiety from brusting into failure till the race finishes. coming to the main point. i hve just this much of suggestion. Just mark all important questions (with any of ur fvrate alfabet) in the time u earmarked before going into the last lap of the exams. while doing and learning concepts, just hve confidence and will that u will remember all that not just till the exams finishes off but uptill ur whole life. coz' those r concepts afterall. not a list of uncanny names to rote b4 exams and pouring it thereat. and last but not least, everytime u prepares or does any subject or concept that u think is difficult or important, just imagine urself into the exam center and solving it. the moment u solve it their, confirm ur mind that u will be able to solve it in exam too. best of luck.
